Options on Currencies
Trading options on currencies requires a currency trading account. Options on currencies are traded over the counter (OTC) in the Foreign Exchange (FOREX) market. There is some overlap with commodities since Gold and Silver are also traded as currency pairs on the FOREX market.

In order to trade options on commodity futures like gold, silver, oil, etc., you need to have a futures trading account. Within that futures account, you will be able to trade options on those commodity futures contracts.
